What are OpenAI Dots?

Dots are always-on AI agents in ChatGPT that can keep working between conversations. Their customizable characters give each dot a recognizable face: you can choose its shape, color, eyes, glasses and accessories.

This independent maker explores that playful visual style. Build an original 3D character for an image or a shareable viewer; creating one here does not create a ChatGPT dot or connect to your OpenAI account.

On October 2, 2026, Tibo (@thsottiaux) explained that you can ask your dot to create a pet and set it as your avatar, starting from an idea or an image. Copy your character brief from the maker and attach the PNG if you want a visual reference.

What can I download?

A 1024 × 1024 transparent PNG with no floor shadow, or an HTML file containing your 3D character. The HTML viewer loads a pinned Three.js renderer from jsDelivr, so it needs an internet connection.

Can this change my avatar in ChatGPT Dots?

Copy the character prompt into your dot conversation to ask it to create a pet and set it as its own avatar. Our prompt asks for a preview and your confirmation first. This website does not connect to ChatGPT or change profiles itself. If your dot cannot apply the avatar, open its profile and select the pencil icon to use the available customization options.
