Floating mode uses viewport bounds.

Validate pet.json before installing.

Paste a Codex pet manifest and confirm the package has the minimum fields Codex needs to locate the spritesheet.

Manifest has the required fields.

How to use the Codex pet preview tool

  1. 01

    Load a spritesheet

Paste a public WebP or PNG spritesheet URL, or start with one of the bundled example Codex pets.

  2. 02

    Check the animation rows

Switch between idle, walk, sleep, celebrate, and custom rows to confirm each sequence lines up with the 8 by 9 atlas contract.

  3. 03

    Tune the display

Adjust scale, pin mode, and draggable widget behavior so you can see how the pet will feel inside Codex.

  4. 04

    Validate the manifest

Paste pet.json into the checker before installing so missing fields, atlas dimensions, or frame counts are caught early.
